SPF Lumber

In North America, Spruce, Pine and Fir lumber sometimes are mixed together  because of their characteristics are so close. We usually refer to SPF lumber as one kind of mixed these spieces lumber.

At WCLLI, we have been shipping SPF, Hemlock, Fir dimension lumber to our customers since year 2001. We only do SPF, Hem, Fir lumber for export. No domestic sales.

SPF Lumber Characteristics

It is of constant high quality, straight grained and smooth texture with a high strength to weight ratio. It is easily worked, has good holding and nailing properties and finishes well with most stains and paints.

SPF is easily seasoned in kilns and is dried to 19% moisture content. SPF lumber that has been dried is labeled KD-HT and has better performance properties than green lumber of the same species. The advantages include:- lighter weight, improved appearance, improved gluing characteristics, reduced shrinking and warping characteristics.
